Valve Registers Half Life 3 Trademark

“Rise and shine, Mister Freeman. Rise and… shine.”……… Some of the opening lines to the iconic Half Life 2 released almost 10 years ago. Some say Half Life 3 would never come! Some say it’s just a fable to tell your kids at night about what once was… All I know is, they are wrong!

Half Life 3 Trademark

Members of NeoGAF have discovered Valve’s European trademark registered for Half Life 3! The  Rumours of Half Life 3 started not long after the release of Half Life 2 back in 2004, however nothing ever transpired from the rumours. With rumours having run wild for the last about 10 years, either Valve are toying with fans, registering the trademark on 29 September for possible future use, or something is really in the pipeline!

“Time, Dr. Freeman? Is it really that time again?”

Hell yes it seems to be that time! Time to take on the role of Gordon in the half Life 3! When exactly isn’t sure just yet, but to add fuel to the easily started fire was this screenshot of the “Half-Life 3” and “Half-Life 3 Core” groups in Valve’s bug tracker…

This would mean that Half Life 3 is most probably in development. Along with it would come the next edition of Source and Left For Dead 3 as well! Further point of interest to note is that there are developers assigned to these lists who were developers and members who worked on Half Life 2 together! There has been no comment from Valve yet, but with rumours hyping up, I think we can expect some clarity in the near future.

So this is it! It’s happening!

Thanks to the guys at NeoGAF for this!

While we wait for more info on Half Life 3, why not check out some of these best Half Life moments and reminisce about the fun you had with the Gravity Gun.

‘Till then…
