Being the original form of social networking, where people could communicate, share ideas and thoughts, radio has changed over the years. Embracing the change in social networking and aiming at creating an entertaining and engaging form of media, 94.7 Highveld Stereo/94.5 Kfm on Monday announced the launch of their new smartphone-based game in association with Samsung – Star Power.
The game is a world-first that entices people to play games on their smartphone, which you already check more than 30 times a day. By merging radio and the interactivity of a GPS-based game, 94.7 Highveld Stereo/94.5 Kfm and Samsung have come up with this concept that will kick-off on Monday, 3 June 2013.
Star Power, How it works:
So, what you need to do is download the app from the various stores, by clicking here –> Download. Next, register a Star Power profile with your details, choose your area – Gauteng or Western Cape. Keep the app open and find the star you think is the winning star. The trick here is…
Listen to 94.7 Highveld Stereo or 94.5 Kfm to hear the clues during the day that will give you an indication of which star is the star that might be the winning star.
You must be within 100m of the star to claim it. Yellow stars are stars that have not been claimed yet and red stars are ones already claimed… But if you see a red star, you can grab it from the person. Remember, you must be within 100m of the star.
If you are holding the winning star at the close of play at the end of the day, you could win. Considering you already registered with your details, the radio station will call you. There might be a bargaining on the star, where the radio station offers you cash for your star. If you ‘re adamant on keeping the star, you might win the mega-bucks, or, if you didn’t take the cash, you might have won nothing… So it’s all up to you.
You can only hold 1 star at a time and if you lose signal, you lose your star. You can also lose your star after a minute of holding it, so make sure you keep your Star Power app open to make sure that doesn’t happen.
This is all aimed at engaging audiences on all forms of social media, while encouraging play from many people across the gameplay area.
With the Samsung Galaxy S4 being the fastest selling phone in South Africa, Samsung and Highveld Stereo want to give a little something back… Okay, maybe a lot of something. With Samsung S4 phones to be won daily and R400 000 in cash to be won, be sure to get in on the action.
Don’t forget to download the app and register to get playing. The Star Power app is currently available on the Google Play store and on Apple’s AppStore, with the Samsung and BlackBerry app stores coming soon and game play starts on Monday 3 June 2013.
Always remember, give a jackass an education and you’ll have a smartass!
